VSO Supporter Groups

VSO Supporter Groups are a vital part of Big Curry Night, and we'd like you to help us make Big Curry Night 2008 the best yet. Here are some ideas to get you started:

Hold a Big curry night!

It may sound obvious, but the key to Big Curry Night is sharing skills, socialising and sending in the money to us! Rather than holding one event per Supporter Group, why not ask all of your members to hold a Big Curry Night for maximum skills sharing and fundraising opportunities!

Spread the word!

As a VSO Supporter Group member, your role as VSO’s eyes and ears in the local community is vital. This year we would like you to help us market the event by displaying posters in your communities. Let us know how many posters you need and we will get these to you as soon as we can.

From Supporter Group to Supporter Group

Do you meet frequently with any members of your community on a regular basis other than your VSO Supporter Group? Perhaps you regularly attend church or are a brownie or scout leader? Maybe you help out in a nearby school or hospital? Do you work out in the gym or are you a member of a Slimming Club?

Whatever the group – you have a captive audience of people who like to get together and who would probably be open to having a Curry Night. Why not suggest they organise a Big Curry Night with your help?

BIG local curry night

VSO’s Big Curry Night is a great excuse for getting a lot of people together for a social night in. But why not take your Big Curry Night to the local community and organise a meal in a church hall or community centre. For advice on how this could be done, do contact us.

One World Week - 16th to 26th October

One World Week is an annual opportunity for people from diverse backgrounds to come together to learn about global justice, to spread that learning and to use it to take action for justice locally and globally. Find out more...

Thank you for giving us a good excuse to get together with lots of friends last Saturday! We held a quiz night in a restaurant in Stone, Staffs and, as well as having a great time with lots of fun and laughter, we managed to raise £260.
